Jan 15, 2012 - Feel like a student!
I have taken this Professional Certificate in Geotourism and today is our 1st field trip, one of the seven. It's a miserable rainy and foggy date. We took a boat ride in the morning to places where you could see the magnificant land formation from a boat. Super bumpy ride! Regardless of the fog, the views were stunning! In the afternoon we found ourselves in East Dam of High Island Reservoir. I felt like a real student listened out to our lecturer talking about formation of volcanic rock, the massive number of hexagonal columnar joints. The place has always been one of my favorite and I have just lost count of the times I was there. I really love rocks and all these amazing stories about lava, volcanic activities and all. So excited and looking forward to the next one after CNY!
