Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea 崖上の波兒

An animated adventure centers on a baby fish/mermaid in the sea named Ponyo 波兒 who becomes a human girl. In pursuing her goal, she befriends a five-year-old human boy, Sōsuke 宗介.

Ponyo is not just a kid movie. If anyone has ever watched any Miyazaki 宮崎駿 movies, you will very naturally go watch this one, like it or not. The Miyazaki movies I liked the most was Totoro 龍貓, watched it more than a thousand times. Ponyo could be another loved one. The pictures are so beautiful. They were all hand painted watercolor pictures. I had missed visiting the Ghibli Museum 三鷹の森ジブリ美術館 in Mitaka-shi and I would definitely go the very next time I will be in Tokyo.

The movie is so pleasant to look at and I heard a lot of people talking about how impossible the plot was and it was like to mermaid story from Anderson etc. I don't care. It is a very nice peaceful puppy love story and a lot of amazing details. Like to bowl of instant noodles!
